The Mom Report: August 2, 2018
#TEAMFORTNITE OR #TEAMAGAINSTNITE
Mom and social media star Meredith Masony of That’s Inappropriate has had enough of the video game Fortnite, claiming it has made her son, “lose his ever-lovin’ mind!” She recently released a video, which has since gone viral, that millions of parents can relate to. Judging by the video’s thousands of comments, however, not all parents are opposed to the game. Many approve of their kids’ Fortnite habit because of all the chores that are getting done as their kids try to earn money to use in the game. Whether you are #TeamFortnite or #TeamAgainstnite, you’re definitely not alone.
TWO MOMS LIP SYNC SONS' FORTNITE COMMENTARY
While on the subject of Fortnite, wo moms recorded their sons playing the game then lip-synched their commentary. Check it out here for a good laugh.
WHEN YOU ARE SOOO DONE
Any other mamas have those days when you are just DONE! Like really done? Tiffany Jenkins of Juggling The Jenkins recently had one of those days and summed it up perfectly in this video
FOOD CHEMICALS AND OUR KIDS
The American Academy of Pediatrics wants better oversight, testing, and regulation on the thousands of chemicals in our food and food packaging in hopes of better protecting children’s health. The new push for a food safety overhaul is underway primarily because of concerns over how the FDA-approved chemicals will affect a child’s growth, development, health, and behavior.
BOTTOM LINE: Some of the chemicals in question are added to our food for a variety of purposes while others are used for processing and packaging. A list of the chemicals to avoid and how to avoid them can be found here.
MORE NEW MOMS SUFFERING HEART ATTACKS
A newly released study shows a rising number of women are having heart attacks during pregnancy, delivery, and in the weeks following birth. Researchers aren’t exactly sure what is causing the increase but think there could be several contributing factors which include women having kids at a later age, the higher obesity and diabetes rates, and advancements in heart attack detection.
BOTTOM LINE: The study’s author tells TIME, “Although heart attacks in young women are rare, the time during and immediately after pregnancy is a particularly vulnerable period during which heart disease may be unmasked.” He recommends that all women know their risk factors and work with their doctors on things like high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity before or in the early stages of pregnancy.
FAMILY'S CRAIGSLIST AD GOES VIRAL

Despite all of the issues disclosed, the honest (and hilarious) ad went viral and now there is no shortage of buyers.
