SELF-CARE AND SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS

Ladies, it’s time to get your game face on. The holidays are here and we need to keep it together!

That’s why I reached out to Gracile Dawes, a licensed professional counselor that specializes in women’s health. She is also a mom of three and totally gets it.

She is here to keep us from losing our sh*t this holiday season! We also talk about self-care and how every mom can and SHOULD make it a priority in their life.

What are you top tips to keeping our sanity over the holidays?

Lead with “No” unless it is a “Hell Yes!”  If you tell someone that you are already booked and can’t make their thing work, you avoid arguments with your significant other about committing to too much..[READ MORE]

EARLY BOARDING FOR PEANUT ALLERGIES

You can now board early on American Airlines if you or someone in your family has a peanut or tree-nut allergy. The airline made the change so allergy sufferers can have more time to wipe the seats down to avoid any potential exposure. More details can be found here.

WORST TOYS OF 2018

If you’re doing some holiday shopping, one consumer advocacy group says these are the top ten worst toys to buy this year because they can cause injuries such as choking, strangulation, blunt force trauma or eye damage.

AAP: DON’T SPANK

The American Academy of Pediatrics has updated its position on spanking and they say...don’t do it.

PROTECTING EGGS AND EMBRYOS

A new protocol will help doctors monitor the temperature of tanks that store eggs and embryos so they can avoid another disaster like the one that destroyed thousands of eggs and embryos at an Ohio clinic earlier this year.

MOM PUMPS DURING IRONMAN RACE

Some would argue that women are the ultimate multi-taskers, but active-duty Air Force mom Jaime Sloan is taking things to a whole new level. Not only did she recently compete in a half Ironman triathlon, which is impressive in and of itself, she pumped milk while running because she was on pace for a personal record! The story is amazing and proof that moms really can be superhuman!

IS HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT HOW YOU LOOK HOLDING YOU BACK?

Colleen Odegaard is the host of Charlotte Today in Charlotte, NC. I worked with Colleen when I was a news anchor at the same station and she is one of those rare people who will ALWAYS leave you with a smile on your face. She’s candid, she’s real, and she’s downright funny.

She recently started talking to her Facebook followers in a video series called “Curler Confessions” where she speaks from the heart and drops some really really big truth bombs about life. One of her most recent ones really struck me.

She asks, “Is how you feel about how you look holding you back in life?”

It’s definitely worth a watch and I hope you will walk away feeling more empowered to enjoy your life right now!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Now that you are fully embracing yourself….as you are...right now… Go ENJOY your Thanksgiving and eat whatever you want!
