Pregnancy is a beautiful thing. Truth is though, it’s also pretty damn brutal. The things your body goes through are not only miraculous, they are downright gross, uncomfortable, and at times shocking.

When it comes to pregnancy, everyone talks about the glow, the cute little belly bump, and feelings of gratitude for the miracle growing inside of you. All of which are true. We all know that you can experience morning sickness, food aversions, frequent urination, weight gain, cravings, etc., but what people don’t tell you is to hold on tight because shit is about to get crazy! Yes, there are many wonderful things that come with pregnancy but there are also a LOT of things NO ONE tells you because well...the truth isn’t always pretty.

We asked real moms about the things no one told them about pregnancy, and boy did they deliver! The response was so overwhelming that we’ll be breaking it down into a three-part series (pregnancy, giving birth, and postpartum recovery.) Get ready, these ladies didn't hold back and their honesty is so refreshing and at times..hilarious!

1. ABOUT THE HEMORRHOIDS 😩

"No one told me about hemorrhoids during pregnancy or I’d have eaten barrels of Metamucil. OmG" - Lauren H.

28. THAT YOU MAY DO IT AGAIN ANYWAY...🤰🏼

This is exactly why a lot of women don’t enjoy being pregnant. You know what - that’s OKAY! It doesn’t mean you love your kids any less, that you aren't grateful of your ability to have children in the first place, or that you won’t be an incredible mother. It’s simply time to stop pretending that the pregnancy journey is all rainbows and butterflies. For some women it really sucks!

If you made it through this list you are probably wondering why in the world women keep making babies. The truth is, it’s not always pretty, but most mamas will tell you they’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. They’d also probably tell you that it would have been nice to have a heads up! Let this list serve as a reminder that you are amazing, your body is incredible, and you, my friend, are not alone on the hormonal crazy train that is pregnancy!
